The Eighth Story. Nineteen Years Later.
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
Schedule of Events:
6:00 PM: The magic begins and the first round of butterbeer is on us! Grab a goblet and head over to the wandmaking station to craft your own wand. Our very own Ollivander can help you make your perfect wand, but remember, the wand chooses the wizard.
6:30 PM: School is in session, starting with a class in Care of Magical Creatures. Your assignment: drawing creature portraits based on short descriptions found in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander. Bonus house points if you can correctly guess the type of creature in your portrait.
7:00 PM: Another new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher? Hope you have your wands at the ready as we practice banishing Boggarts and producing perfect patronuses. Let's see who has the best wand work!
7:45 PM: No auto-answer quills allowed for our extreme Harry Potter trivia. Can you name all of the Weasley children in order of age from youngest to oldest? Then this trivia is made for you. The evening's winner will receive a spellbinding prize.
We will be closing at the store at our usual time of 9:00 PM and reopening at midnight to sell copies of The Cursed Child. Those who have pre-purchased their copy will have the opportunity to line up first, then it's first come, first served.
